"Is hypnosis good with phobias?"

I was asked the hugest of questions recently, "Is hypnosis good with phobias?". I was able to give the questioner a resounding "yes" with the belief that we were talking about a sufficient time frame but when less than a week was mentioned subconsciously I fell back to the well known Tui Billboard . . . "yeah, right"! But at the point in time I had discounted the amazing progress people can make when they so definitely want change combined with the high success rate that hypnotherapy can have with phobias. Successful people can go about their lives well thought of in their careers, personal lives and no one would be aware in all but certain circumstances that they may be dealing with huge fears that could hinder their career paths, stymie relationships even affect their health by restricting possible options......

One of the areas that people "just deal with" is the fear of flying. Thousands of planes take off and land around the world everyday without crashing and with way more successful flights than unsuccessful what is there to be afraid of. It safer than driving down the public highway... isn't it??

But Clinical Hypnotherapy can help by getting to the core of the problem. Rather than taking a sedative and masking the fear, by enlisting the subconscious mind, Clinical Hypnotherapy can diminish the fear of flying and get you to the airport, into the plane and through the arrival hall to your destination without turning your self into a shaking sweating wreck.

Its the same story for any fear or phobia a person you may have. If you want the positive change, Clinical Hypnotherapy will assist you in getting that change!!!

For instance, if you've been afraid of rough seas since childhood, you can listen to a hypnotic therapy and your fear will over time devolve. It doesn't mean that you loose the inbuilt fear that kicks in when you are in true danger but you will be able to enjoy the ferry trip or speed boat ride that previously was a "white knuckle" experience. Public speaking is another area I have worked in. Truth be known, most of the audience are probably happy that it's you up on stage rather than them but the use of Clinical Hypnotherapy will boost your level of confidence, relaxation and make recall easier so you don't become tongue tied in a quivering cold sweat next time you have to do a presentation.

And as for my questioner, they did very well. Having decided that sedatives weren't for them 3 days of intensive Hypnotherapy had a claustrophobic falling asleep in an MRI machine ... which goes to prove when the desire is there Hypnotherapeutic magic is possible!!!

Being an airline captain and trained in hypnosis, I can say it may help. It is hit or miss. A reliable method is described at http://www.fearofflying.com/video_hs.shtml

Hi Captain Tom, many thanks for visiting my site. I firmly believe with Clinical Hypnotherapy the 'hit or miss' component depends very much upon the desire of the client for change - for instance as described in the article I had a client who HAD to overcome her fear hence in less than a week big change occurred. At the other end of the spectrum I had a smoker who eventually admitted they liked the idea of stopping smoking (but didn't want to stop) - I was that time on a hiding to nothing ....
